If your EV isn't charging as expected with NeoGrid through your charger, or you're not receiving any NeoGrid Credits, there could be several reasons.
This guide helps you identify common issues and make sure your charger is ready for NeoGrid charging.

Requirements for Charging with Your Charger

To ensure NeoGrid can control your charging via the charger correctly, a few important conditions must be met:

1. Authentication via Charger

Make sure your charger does not require additional authentication (e.g., RFID or app confirmation) or that it is properly authenticated before NeoGrid is used.
NeoGrid can only start charging automatically if the charger is ready to release power.

2. Disable Other Charging Modes (e.g., PV surplus charging)

If your charger is currently in a mode that blocks grid power (e.g., solar surplus mode), NeoGrid won’t be able to start charging.
In this case, the session is marked as ineligible for NeoGrid Credits.

Make sure to disable surplus/eco modes in your charger app before using NeoGrid.

3. No Sleep Mode on the Vehicle

Some vehicles go into sleep mode when they are not directly controlled by the vehicle's system.
Please make sure your EV can receive wake-up signals from the charger and respond to external charging commands.

4. Keep Software & API Access Up to Date

  • Ensure your charger firmware is up to date.

  • API access / remote control must be enabled.

  • Also, make sure you’re using the latest version of the Ostrom app.

Charger-Specific Settings

Different manufacturers require different configurations for NeoGrid to work properly.
Here’s what to check for go-e and MyEnergi/Zappi models:

Manufacturer

Settings for NeoGrid Use

go-e

- If surplus charging (eco) was active, switch to Basic Mode before using NeoGrid
- Make sure API access is enabled

MyEnergi/Zappi

- Avoid Eco+ or Eco Modes
- If surplus mode was used before, run one charge in Boost or Fast Mode before using NeoGrid
- Use Stop Mode as the starting point when NeoGrid should take over

Still not working? Try re-connecting

If it’s still not working after checking the above, try reconnecting your charger in the app.
Sometimes a quick restart of the app or charger helps as well.
