✅ Do I still need to enter my meter reading with a Smart Meter?
It depends on whether your Smart Meter has already been switched to RLM (registrierende Lastgangmessung).
Here’s how it works:
✔️ If your Smart Meter has already been switched to RLM:
We receive your meter reading automatically every month via market communication 🙌
The reading is transmitted for the last day of each month.
You no longer need to read your meter or enter the values manually.
❗ If your Smart Meter has not yet been switched to RLM:
We do not receive monthly data — and you must continue to submit your meter reading manually.
This ensures we can create accurate invoices for you.
📌 Does this also apply if I am using the SimplyFair tariff?
Yes!
Even in the SimplyFair tariff, the rule is:
Automatic readings only with active RLM
Without RLM → manual meter readings are still required
📧 What if I still receive an email asking for my meter reading?
These reminder emails are sent automatically — regardless of your Smart Meter status.
Here’s what you can do:
➡️ You may submit your meter reading if you prefer.
➡️ If we already have a valid Smart Meter reading (e.g., shown in your Ostrom app), we will automatically use it for your annual bill.
➡️ If RLM is not active yet, we still rely on your manual meter reading.
