Credits can fluctuate from day to day even if your charging behavior stays the same (learn more about why credits fluctuate – link). Still, over time you can earn more credits by keeping a few things in mind.

In general

The longer your EV is plugged in and the more often you use NeoGrid® AI, the more NeoGrid® AI can optimize within your charging window—and the higher your credits will be.

Specifically, these two levers help:

1) Use NeoGrid® AI as often as possible

Activate NeoGrid® AI every time you charge at home. Every additional optimized kWh increases your share of the total savings—and therefore your credits.

2) Give NeoGrid® AI a large charging window

The longer your car remains plugged in (with the same amount of energy needed), the more opportunities NeoGrid® AI has to take advantage of favorable times and trade the required electricity.

Example:

  • Scenario 1: NeoGrid® AI is allowed to optimize from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (10 hours).

  • Scenario 2: NeoGrid® AI is only allowed to optimize from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. (4 hours).

In Scenario 1, NeoGrid® AI has significantly more options to use hours with particularly favorable real-time prices—leading to more savings and more credits. If, on the other hand, you plug in your car or activate NeoGrid® AI only so late that it just finishes charging in time, there are fewer opportunities to generate savings.
