⚡ What's the difference between SimplyDynamic Monthly and SimplyDynamic?
Both tariffs are based on electricity exchange prices – but they differ in how those prices are applied to your consumption.
SimplyDynamic Monthly applies a so-called SLP curve (standard load profile) on top of the exchange prices. The SLP describes the typical consumption pattern of a regular household customer. From this, a monthly average price is calculated and applied to your actual usage.
This means: you benefit when exchange prices fall overall. But your individual consumption behavior – like charging at night or using energy during cheap hours – has no impact on your price.
SimplyDynamic bills your consumption directly at the hourly exchange price. Here it pays off to shift usage to cheaper hours – for example, charging your EV at night or running your dishwasher when there's lots of solar power in the grid.
🔄 Why can't I switch directly to SimplyDynamic?
SimplyDynamic has two requirements:
A) A smart meter – an intelligent electricity meter with a BSI-certified smart meter gateway
B) An RLM profile (registrierte Leistungsmessung) – through this profile we receive your hourly consumption data from your metering point operator
Only once both requirements are met and we're receiving your hourly data can we switch you to SimplyDynamic. That's why you start with SimplyDynamic Monthly – as a transition tariff until everything is set up.
📋 How does the switch from SimplyDynamic Monthly to SimplyDynamic work?
In the best case, you'll be on SimplyDynamic Monthly for about a month. During this time, we make sure your smart meter is set up correctly and that we're receiving your consumption data.
Once everything is in place, we'll switch you automatically at the start of the next month. You don't need to do anything 😊
Two scenarios where things may take longer:
Data not yet complete: Your SimplyDynamic Monthly tariff stays active until all requirements are met. We'll switch you as soon as they are.
No smart meter available: If it turns out you don't have a smart meter, you can choose one of our fixed-price tariffs: SimplyFair, SimplyFair12, or SimplyFair24.
