๐Ÿ“Š How is your monthly deposit payment calculated?

Our pricing model determines the amount of your monthly deposit payment based on the following components:

๐Ÿ”Œ Estimated yearly consumption

This indicates how much electricity you are expected to use per year โ€“ measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

โšก Unit price

The energy rate is calculated in cents per kilowatt-hour. At Ostrom, you get electricity at cost price โ€“ with no markup.

๐Ÿ”ง Grid fees

These fees are charged by your local grid operator to transport electricity from the power plant to your home.

โ˜€๏ธ Ostrom base fee

Our flat base fee is โ‚ฌ6 per month. Unlike many providers, we only charge this flat fee โ€“ we do not profit from your consumption.

๐Ÿ“Œ Example calculation

  • Energy rate: 30 ct/kWh

  • Yearly consumption: 1200 kWh

  • Grid fees: โ‚ฌ4

  • Ostrom base fee: โ‚ฌ6

Calculation:
1200 kWh / 12 months = 100 kWh per month
100 kWh ร— 30 ct/kWh = โ‚ฌ30
โ‚ฌ30 + โ‚ฌ4 grid fees + โ‚ฌ6 base fee = โ‚ฌ40
