📊 How is your monthly deposit payment calculated?
Our pricing model determines the amount of your monthly deposit payment based on the following components:
🔌 Estimated yearly consumption
This indicates how much electricity you are expected to use per year – measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh).
⚡ Unit price
The energy rate is calculated in cents per kilowatt-hour. At Ostrom, you get electricity at cost price – with no markup.
🔧 Grid fees
These fees are charged by your local grid operator to transport electricity from the power plant to your home.
☀️ Ostrom base fee
Our flat base fee is €6 per month. Unlike many providers, we only charge this flat fee – we do not profit from your consumption.
📌 Example calculation
Energy rate: 30 ct/kWh
Yearly consumption: 1200 kWh
Grid fees: €4
Ostrom base fee: €6
Calculation:
1200 kWh / 12 months = 100 kWh per month
100 kWh × 30 ct/kWh = €30
€30 + €4 grid fees + €6 base fee = €40
→ €40 monthly deposit payment (example)
