If your old electricity provider raises prices, you are entitled to a special right of termination (Sonderkündigungsrecht) in Germany which allows you to terminate your contract prematurely. This comes into effect as soon as your electricity provider has communicated the price increase in writing.

As a rule, this letter will also inform you of the deadline for your special termination right, which is usually two weeks. However, it is best to check this yourself. The exact contract details can be found in the terms and conditions of your contract.

If you want to claim the special termination right and switch to Ostrom, we can not exceptionally terminate for you. In this case, you will have to cancel your old contract yourself.
