How can the consumption of my heat pump be calculated?

Since there are many different types of heat pumps and control systems, we use a simplified rule of thumb to help estimate your electricity consumption realistically.

We calculate with 45 kWh per m² of living space – this is slightly above the average (typical range: 27–42 kWh/m²) and thus provides a safe guideline.

Formula for consumption estimation:

Estimated annual consumption (kWh) = 45 × living space (in m²)

Example calculation:

You have a living space of 120 m²:

➡️ 45 × 120 = 5,400 kWh per year

This estimate is only a rough guideline. Actual consumption can vary depending on the type of heat pump, insulation standard, and heating habits.
