⚙️ Requirement for the 24h Switch: the MaLo-ID

Since 06.06.2025, the new switching procedure for electricity suppliers applies: LFW24. To complete your supplier switch within 24 hours, your delivery point in the electricity grid must be clearly identified.

For this purpose, before every switch, the Market Location ID (MaLo-ID) is checked and confirmed in advance by the responsible grid operator - this step is called the identification of the Market Location ID.

Without this confirmed MaLo-ID, we cannot start the switch - neither the cancellation of your current contract nor the registration with your grid operator is possible.

🧠 What is the MaLo-ID?

The MaLo-ID (Market Location ID) is an 11-digit number that uniquely identifies your electricity connection in the grid - basically the “address” of your delivery point.

🔁 How does the new switching process work?

You register with your MaLo-ID:

  • We forward it to the grid operator.

  • The grid operator verifies whether it is correct.

  • Then we start your switch - either by cancelling your previous contract or by direct registration with the grid operator.

You register with your meter ID and delivery address:

  • We request from the grid operator which MaLo-ID belongs to your delivery point.

  • Once we receive a response, the switching process continues as described above.

🔍 Where can I find my MaLo-ID?

You can find it:

  • on your latest electricity invoice

  • in your contract confirmation

  • or by requesting it directly from the grid operator

🧾 I don’t have a MaLo-ID - what now?

Don't worry! We can also request the Market Location ID from the grid operator based on your meter ID and delivery address. If you have an old electricity invoice, please send us the complete document via live chat. The MaLo-ID should be listed there.
