🔧 1. Is having a Smart Meter enough to use the dynamic tariff?
Not by itself.
To use our SimplyDynamic tariff, we need interval consumption data (e.g., every 15 minutes).
We only receive these data if your grid operator reports that your metering has been switched to:
➡️ registrierende Lastgangmessung (RLM)
(= interval metering / load profile metering)
🏢 2. Who is responsible for switching to RLM?
This is entirely the responsibility of your grid operator.
Important update:
📅 Since December 1st, 2024, the supplier’s right to choose the forecasting basis has been removed.
👉 Meaning:
Ostrom cannot request the RLM switch from your grid operator.
Only the grid operator can:
initiate the RLM setup
complete the required rebalancing (Umbilanzierung)
transmit your interval consumption data to us
📡 3. When will I be switched to the SimplyDynamic tariff?
As soon as your grid operator:
performs the RLM switch, and
we start receiving regular interval consumption data,
we will switch you to SimplyDynamic at the:
➡️ next possible date automatically.
You will then receive a tariff change confirmation email with all relevant details.
⏳ 4. What if my Smart Meter was installed months ago but nothing is happening?
If your Smart Meter was installed several months ago, but:
RLM has not been activated, or
we have not received any interval consumption data,
then please contact us.
We can:
➡️ reach out to your grid operator
➡️ request faster processing
Please note:
We have no influence over the internal processing times of the grid operator.
Timelines vary significantly between grid areas.
📘 5. Where can I find the official rules?
