This can happen—and in most cases, it’s no cause for concern. Even in these situations, you continue to benefit.
To provide targeted grid support and generate savings, NeoGrid® AI uses real-time prices instead of the prices from your SimplyDynamic tariff. Your SimplyDynamic tariff is based on prices that are set on the electricity market the day before, based on forecasts (day-ahead prices), for example using weather predictions. You can see these prices in the Ostrom app in your SimplyDynamic price curve for the following day.
Why NeoGrid® AI uses real-time prices
In the real power system, the actual amount of electricity available and the level of demand are constantly changing. To optimally support the grid, NeoGrid® AI responds to the current situation in the electricity market. It uses real-time price signals to flexibly adjust your charging, support the grid, and generate savings.

This is why NeoGrid® AI may charge at times that don’t appear cheapest in your price curve
NeoGrid® AI follows the most cost-effective—and therefore most grid-friendly—times in the real-time market, not the previous day’s prices that apply in the SimplyDynamic tariff.
Grid conditions in the real-time market can change at short notice compared to the day before—for example, if less electricity is generated than expected or demand increases. As a result, the cheapest times may shift, and individual hours may even become more expensive than originally planned. In such cases, it can appear as though NeoGrid® AI is charging at more expensive times than those shown in your price curve.
What’s important is this: that doesn’t mean NeoGrid® AI is charging “incorrectly”. NeoGrid® AI doesn’t optimize charging hour by hour, but across the entire charging window. Even if individual hours appear more expensive, overall savings can still be achieved—for example, because electricity was purchased very cheaply earlier or sold again later.
In a nutshell
NeoGrid® AI optimizes flexibly on your behalf—for the best possible support of the power grid and for maximum savings, even when the cheapest times change at short notice.
What it means for your charging costs
Billing is still based on the prices of your tariff—that is, the hourly prices you see in the Ostrom app.
NeoGrid® Credits are created from the savings NeoGrid® AI achieves through real-time optimization. They typically at least offset such deviations—and in most cases, you save even more.
