The electricity price brake is a relief package from the German government to cushion the high costs of the energy crisis. It applies from March 01, 2023 to December 31, 2023 and will also be applied retroactively for January and February 2023.

The electricity price is capped at 40 ct/kWh for 80% of the forecast consumption. For the remaining 20%, the normal electricity price applies. You can find more information about the electricity price cap on our blog.
