⚡️ Starting 06.06. 2025: Switch electricity providers in just 24 hours
From June 6th 2025, a new federalwide rule will apply across Germany: the 24-hour supplier switch (or “LFW 24”). 🎉 That means if everything goes smoothly, you could be getting electricity from us as soon as the next working day after you sign up!
🔄 What’s changing?
No more retroactive sign-ups or cancellations:
Everything now has to be scheduled in advance. We recommend letting us know about your move around 14 days ahead of time to avoid any gaps in supply.
If you tell us today about your move, the earliest we can start supplying or deregistering you is tomorrow. All switches must be for a future date:
Your grid operator can only register us for a delivery start date in the future. A start date in the past is no longer technically possible. The switch must be completed within one working day:
Once all your information is complete and correct, both the grid operator and your current provider have 24 hours to respond to our termination request and grid registration.Switches can now happen on any working day:
Whether it’s a Monday or a Friday, you’re no longer tied to specific switch dates.
📝 What stays the same?
Contract terms and cancellation periods still apply:
Even though the process is faster, your existing contract still needs to be properly cancelled.
Your usual minimum contract term and notice period still apply.
If you have a special right of cancellation, you’ll need to submit that cancellation yourself.Your MaLo-ID is more important than ever:
You’ll need your market location ID (MaLo-ID) for things like signing up or moving.
You can find it on your last electricity bill or request it from your local grid operator.👉 Please note: If you don't have your MaLo ID, you can still register with us using just your meter number. We will request the missing information from the grid operator on your behalf.
This update makes switching faster and easier – and helps ensure fairer competition in the energy market for everyone. 🚀
