A handover protocol (Übergabeprotokoll) is a document that you receive from your landlord, which confirms your tenancy.

In order for us to be able to register you with your grid operator, we may need your handover certificate. This is important so that we can confirm that you are responsible for your electricity contract and no longer your landlord or the previous tenant.
