Why was my entry in the meter reading form not accepted?

If the meter reading form doesn’t accept your input, it’s usually due to one of the reasons below. Please check these points briefly – in many cases, this will resolve the issue quickly 😊


🔢 Contract number instead of customer number

Please make sure to enter your contract number, not your customer number. These two are often confused.

You can find your contract number:

  • in your contract confirmation email, or

  • in the Ostrom app under More > Contract


📧 Different email address

The email address entered in the form must exactly match the email address associated with your Ostrom account.

💡 Important for sign-ups via price comparison website

If you signed up for Ostrom through a price comparison website, an anonymized email address was created for your contract. In this case, you must enter exactly this anonymized email address in the form – not your private email address.
